Saitek Virtuoso model numbers

Post by paulwise3 »

Last year I tried to buy a Virtuoso from Luuk Hofman, as he had two of them. But when inspecting them, he noticed that they had different article numbers, 411 and 412, so he decided to keep them both.
See also Hein's item about it: http://www.schaakcomputers.nl/hein_veld ... rtuoso.pdf
Right now on ebay both models appeared for sale, see
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Schachcomputer-S ... SwY0lXRvsk and
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Virtuoso-Edelhol ... SwPc9WxdYC
They seem to be different in the woodcolour, and the positioning of the name Virtuoso. Does anyone have an idea why they should have different article numbers?

Wondering regards,
Paul

Interesting post

i checked my Virtuoso and it is a 411
i reviewed all of the old Saitek catalogues i have and i see no mention of a 412..only the 411

i did notice that in 1996-1997 (after Saitek acquired Mephisto)they were still selling the Virtuoso but with a new article number .. 4115

Articulating Regards
Steve

I also have the 411 model. The 412 seems to be more rare.
