Nick TM Portorose requesting technical sheets please

Post by Queegmeister »

Hello Nick and fellows

I need a motherboard specification diagram to test for failure so why it does not work. Somewhere somehow someone must have information.

Can you get a specification , technical sheet ?? Who built this board ? there must be some information on what the ICs and diodes need to have and what they are, and what they do.

Can you please find someone who can aid me ?

I would be grateful if I can get directions so my tech friend and I can fix this machine.

Can't fix it BLIND regards

Perhaps the Master Modder can help you?
he lives in England and modifies old chess computers and sells them on Ebay
i never dealt with him personally (as i have no interest in modified chess computers) .. so i dont know his name or how to contact him ..but others in the forum have bought these modified computers from him and he seems to be highly regarded in this line of "work"
hopefully someone in the forum can give you his email address?

Hi Dr.Q,
The master modder's name is Steve Braid,
I have'nt had a need to contact him in some time, but in my email
history box I found two different addresses for him.
Try this one first:
ggmengineer@virginmedia.com

If no luck, then try this one:
ggm-engineer@blueyonder.co.uk

wishing you all the best...

Vancouver service manual

Post by trontreez »

I have the Mephisto Vancouver 16/32 bit service manual from October 1991. It has the schematics of the CPU module. I can post it if you think that might help. Possibly they have the same layout, possibly not.

NEW HELPFUL INFO

Post by Queegmeister »

I have received advice from an expert Phoenix Chess as you all know them

The problem is in reading the reeds. This curcuitry is driven by two chips.

If someone can tell me which chips these are and where, I can try to obtain the needed parts

Shalom
