broken Saitek Kasparov Blitz

Post by jarek »

Hello Chess Friends!

I can buy a broken Saitek Kasparov Blitz for EUR 40.
Visual condition excellent, but when turned on, the display shows "system er".
I thought that maybe some reed switches are faulty (frequent problem in Mephisto series), but this computer does not have them - there are hall switches instead.

Do you know most common problems with this computer?
Are the hall switches easy to buy?
Would you risk 40 EUR?

thanks!

Saitek Blitz - reeds?!

Post by dedicate computers »

Hello,

As far as I know, Saitek Blitz doesn't work with reeds, has a reflex mechanism, i.e. on the basis of the pieces contain aluminum. If it was my case I would discuss right to purchase, if it is possible to check where the problem is.

The machine needs special piece set. Otherwise it cannot find pieces. Magnetic pieces do not work.

Hello,

thank you for trying to answer my question.
Saitek Blitz works with "Hall" switches.
The special pieces are included with the computer.

Maybe you know someone who is know for reparing chess computers whom I could e-mail this question?

thanks again!
