MC68EC060RC75 - CPU / how to use in fidelity avantgarde

Post by Uli »

I own a fidelity avantgarde vers. 9 (40 Mhz, 1 MB RAM). CPU is sockled so can be changed. My question is:

- is it possible to change the cpu on the board against the MC68EC060RC75 and computer will work without any other modifications? What is necessary if not?

Thank you for your help! Please answer to pcratgeber@gmail.com

Hello Uli

Wouldn't it be easier if you ask directly to steve_uk?
All my best

Is your V9 overclocked? The standard clock speed is 32 mhz, unless
they left the factory with clock speed options.
Re: the 68060 motorola processor, you are assuming it has the
same physical dimensions and same pin-out. I think you will find
it draws quite a bit more power, in which case it would not be
a simple swap. All the best to you anyway from a fellow V9 owner.
