mixed-type database files
I am making a new database that is composed of files composed of full game scores as well as files composed of play from various positions. I would like to have the position files show up in the game list pane but since the moves leading up to the position(s) do not have lead-up moves, these files don't show up. Besides inserting the lead-up moves to each position, is there another way to have these type files show up in the game list pane?

PGN databases in HCE support games from any non standard starting positions - you do NOT need the preceeding moves.
For example you can set up (edit) a position, then (optionally) enter moves from that position and the game can be saved in a database as usual. These games show up like any other in the game list.
The Tactics.pgn we include with HCE is an example of lots of test positions with move continuations.
The AnnotatedGames.pgn is an example with mixed full games and games from a position later in the game.
