i have opened the Fidelity Checker Challenger CR ( 2levels)
in fact i am a bit disappointed :
i expected to find at least a Z80.
in fact there is a NEC D546 which is a 4 bits CPU
This are bad news indeed.
I don't find an emulation of this CPU in MAME, so I guess we can't expect this Checker Challenger to be emulated anytime in the near future in the MAME system.
uCOM-4 MCU family is emulated in MAME, it's written by me: https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/ma ... /ucom4.cpp
However, with these chips it's very hard to read out the internal ROM contents, yovan won't be able to dump the ROM. I know someone who can, but that person is very busy with other things.
I think model CR is the cost-reduced revision. The older model ACR likely has a different CPU.
And one more CB-Emu update (replaces the previous fix):
1) Mephisto Academy: additional German version (thanks to Berger for the German ROM version)
2) Fidelity SC9-B: 8MHz version corrected (internal clock was running too fast)
3) ROM labels for 'sc9' and 'sc9b' changed! (requires ROMs_Update!)
4) Fidelity Dame and Reversi Challenger: CPU frequency can be changed in 'Options > Configuration'
(3.9/8/16 MHz for Dame, 1.8/4/8 MHz for Reversi --> especially for 'yoyo' )
