In game Three..
R40 is set to BRUTE FORCE SEARCH with the Black Pieces and the R30 is set to SELECTIVE SEARCH with White
R30 is out of book at move 9
R40 is out at move 11
both computers play actively reaching a middle game position each with a
B+R+4p's
this time its the R30 that has an advanced P (on c7)
R30 slowly strangles the R40 advancing its K deep within the R40's position.. to the point that the R40 is in Zugzwang
facing Promotion of the R30's P ..it throws in the towel

R40 Can choose its poison
either the c7 or f6 P will Q

I Guess a faster processor cant overcome Selective Vs Brute Force searching

There are quite a few out there who are giving at least the price it went for when new and then some... I'm thinking about Bavaria, R30's, the wooden Fidelity's recently.
Yes The Tasc and Bavaria are selling for about 1x original sales price which was $2000-$2500

Large Saitek wooden boards and Large wooden Novag's sell for less then original price

As to the Fidelity's ..Well..Lately.. the wooden Fidelity's are selling for a fraction of what they did just a month ago where they were going for 3x-4x original sales price..defective even
as mysterious as their rapid increase in value was ..now we have an equally bizarre nose dive in value

there are currently two EAG 2100 Auction's on Ebay
the first ended today going for not even $700 (430 Sterling)
the second has been open for 5 days and a $400 USD Buy Now..with no takers

Market Correction Regards

With the recent release of the Millennium ChessGenius Exclusive...
i guess its time to update this thread...

Perhaps a 5 game match against the Tasc R40(V2.5) is in order when time permits
MCGE will use the Hiarcs(Champion) book
R40 will use its Tournament book

the R40(V2.5) is rated 2400 which is what the MCGE will end up being rated
it seems

Peace Regards

Hello Steve,

Well 5 games is more a lottery of what opening comes on the board
Perhaps a 10 game match :D
I did test the CG Exclusive vs Resurrection Deep Sjeng 3.0 at 30 sec a move
After 10 games 7-3 for the CGE ,vs Resurrection Fruit05 it was after 10games 5-5 and they are +-2450 elo at least
So mine prediction is also that after enough games there is a new leader on the Wiki elo list
Mine games vs R30 2.23 after 20 games 14-6 ore 13-7 for the CGE
So i predict vs the R40 a 3,5-1,5 win for CGE
And why i did not take mine R40 well it is stored well in mine collection and R30 2.23 i can take at once .
I am now playing vs Revalation Vancouver vs CGE
Maybe later on i will take the R40
But i have also a new modified board from UK V11 100Mhz ,and mine Prestige is also back ,and is complete restored
So in short time i will first play with them

But Enjoy your games/Battle between 2 giants

Slayer regards ,Hans

Hi Hans
yes 10 games is better but i prefer 1 Min./Avg games over 30 sec
so 5.. 1 min games ..is the same amount of operator time as 10 ..30 sec.games
:P

so tell me..you expect MCGE to be rated as high as 2450 when all testing is done or closer to 2400?
also...do you notice any difference in playing strength between the Classic book and the Champion book or about the same?

Booking The Match Regards

Hello Steve,

What i expect is that is ending at 2400 +- in active chess
Between books is in mine opinion that with Classic book the CGE can walk into a killer Variant vs R40 ,so lose out of the opening ,with the Hiarcs Book i have seen this not because it is a up to date book ,but here are some openings where a pawn is sacrificed in opening and the CGE do not handle the opening well then ,so it want the pawn back what is mostly wrong ,lets say a R40 do not want the pawn back and have active play instead
so i would take the Hiarcs book
I have played all mine games with H book as i mention before it is a good book to mine opinion

Up to u regards ,Hans

Hi Steve,

Yes, the summer is going fast. Time seems to be picking up speed...

I will be watching the Premiere's performance closely. Good luck as you fine tune the Premiere to achieve a dominant victory. Have you seen Eric's comments in Selective Search about tuning the Elite Premiere for best play? Worth a look.
Should be a fun tournament.

Elite regards,
Dave

Hi Steve,

You are lucky to own all the Competitors to try them out. I guess I’ll never own some of the better ones ....

Hi Al
well when it comes to the more common higher rated computers(like those in the tourney) ..owning them is more a matter of money(and perhaps storage space) then luck I guess
for rare computers however...luck is more important then money
I have offered ridiculous amounts of money for some rare computers I am still searching for and got no takers..even though I know certain collectors own them and would not sell

Money Cant Bring Rareness Regards

Do you really think 2400 Elo ? IMO this is too high, or ?
