Final game of the match, a bigger difference in the final result than many would have thought I believe.

a final result of 9.5 - 2.5 in favour of the MCGE, which ,I think, gives the MCGE an elo rating above the CGPro of 232 points, maybe a little high, hope you enjoyed the match .Regards Steve C.

Thanks for the match
yes a very surprising result

Ya Never Know Regards

Thanks for carrying out these match's.
You will usually have a more one sided score when the same programs play a match when the only difference is speed of processor and RAM size, compared with different programs which generally get close to rating expectation.
The reason is that the slower Genius will not come up with any moves, strategy that the faster Genius will not have calculated already. So will always see that bit further all the time.
Whereas a different program all together, even if lower rated, can sometimes find a different idea (human expression) that just happens to be in this position a better idea. Or maybe the position coming out of the opening is more suitable to the lower rated program.
Best Wishes

Thanks for the appreciation, I did suspect after a few games there would be a considerable difference in the final analysis, but 9.5-2.5 was a little more one sided than I would have thought. Incidentally my favourite dedicated computer games to follow is the MCGE against the R30 on active setting, can't help thinking though that the R30 gives up a pawn far too readily for activity.Regards Steve C.
