Because I bougt a Kasparov and not only did it sometimes freeze, it played just without any plan. Especially in the end game it seemed to play like a little kid that had just learned the rules.
Did not give me a nice feeling, like I had just wasted an hour of my life and had stuffed my house with another box.
OK another question:
given that I have a star aquamarine, ordered a Constellation (not super), should I order a Europa A too?
From a scientific stand point, given that the latter two have very random play, it would be amusing to see them battling each other..
I am recreational player, and do not have any ambition to become world pro, just looking for a diverse playing opponent.
I'm having trouble winning vs the aquamarine (on lowest level, A1), win ratio about 1:4, so the europa a would be a nice way to become better, no?

Strive for avoiding anything flat that emits light. Love the unhackable chess computer with real pieces and a tactile feel. I do not collect, I live.

What model Kasparov? They range from 800 to over 2000 elo...kosterix wrote:Because I bougt a Kasparov and not only did it sometimes freeze, it played just without any plan.
The Europa (A) is 150 elo stronger then the Star Aquamarine. So a lot harder to beat. Like the Constellation it has an interesting playing style.kosterix wrote: I'm having trouble winning vs the aquamarine (on lowest level, A1), win ratio about 1:4, so the europa a would be a nice way to become better, no?
But with the Europa (A) comes a nice learning book, suitable for selfstudy. That could indeed help to become better!
Tip: Before buying one make sure the studybook is included.
Best regards,
Paul

This is the Europa non-A, the one I remember paying for and picking up in an agreed part of a lady's front garden while she was out. $15.
I never bothered looking for the "A" version, as they have the same rating
according to .info. It certainly is a nifty unit, and considering how cheap
and common they are, we should all own one.

That is a coincidence! . I picked up my Fidelity Chess Challenger 7 exactly the same way... 10 or 15 euro if I remember well.Larry wrote:https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TQml1 ... j8N3bf66FR

Yes it works ok now. In fact I prefer this one because it's playing field is a little larger then that of the "A" version. On the other hand, the "A" version has real buttons, which might last longer.Larry wrote:Hi Bryan, try it again.
