What happened to the maestro D+(+) source codes

Post by mclane »

In a css Magazine Frederic Friedel told us about the testament of Julio Kaplan.
The pc program Socrates would be the final result of Kaplan’s work.

The distillate.

To be honest, Socrates 3 did not remind me on the d+ or d++ program.
No interesting playing styles. No sacs. No positional Lightning’s.
It was a program that played, but it played relatively boring.

And as we later found out, it was not Julio Kaplan but don Dailey.

They lied to us.

Or somewhere in the transformation from 8bit 6502 Julio caplan Code to pc program the playing style must have been lost.

We cannot ask don Dailey anymore. And I doubt he would have told us.
Most programmers sign a non disclosure agreement that does not allow them to speak about the jobs.

So where are the source codes ?

We could ask the same about the super constellation engine codes too.

The code is also lost.

We should ask Julio Kaplan,
What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.
Here we have a fairy tale of the day after tomorrow....

Long gone, lost forever.

Bet Logitech haven't got them.
