it´s a fantastic GUI chess, I think that is the GUI more configurable in the world, where you can change a lot ot options to do a "human" gui... it´s fantastic in ALL his options ¡¡¡
arena have free support for *.pgn, epds, copy information, printing, support too for DGT boards, for Novag Citrine and other "compatibleS" serials in configuration... ¡¡ support too for ICS ¡¡ support book too ¡ and show a lot of information in the window ¡
good work for all people that colaborate with ARENA CHESS GUI ¡
Link: Big image arena gui detalle .
LONG LIVE for ARENA GUI CHESS ¡

of course, but a lot of better exits too..Dylan Sharp wrote:How does it fare against Arena 1.1 for stability? I'd like to know if some bugs from the 1.99 versions are still in or if they've been fixed.
in other theme.
Aquarium and chessbase have Bugs too, and they are not FREE.
Arena Chess GUI is a very good GUI for ALL engines, that have a lot of options that the user can change to do a "gui" human style personal user...
GUI is an engine thought by programmers for players programmers or persons with free thought that want to configure the sources, engines, and format of show the information "personally" in the windows.
it is simply impressive the great work do...
happy new year.
bye. Oliver from Spain.

True,I'will not swith to Arena 2.0 until the reviews are over,Arena 1.1 is perfect for me as I use it exclusively for eng-eng matchs....Dylan Sharp wrote:Yes, I'm not asking for comparison between Arena and other software, I'm asking for comparison between Arena 1.1 and Arena 2.0 (Arena 1.1 is "very bugless" and stable.)

Arena 2.0 is the newest stable release.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:True,I'will not swith to Arena 2.0 until the reviews are over,Arena 1.1 is perfect for me as I use it exclusively for eng-eng matchs....Dylan Sharp wrote:Yes, I'm not asking for comparison between Arena and other software, I'm asking for comparison between Arena 1.1 and Arena 2.0 (Arena 1.1 is "very bugless" and stable.)
It has been tested, fixed and streamlined for over a year.
It is no good to us whatsoever if you do not try it.
What we can say is this......Arena 2.0 is a hell of alot quicker than 1.1.
By using Arena 1.1 you remain in the Stone Age.
Caves were no doubt perfect for cavemen and I can indeed sympathise with a caveman who recieves for Christmas something like a Playstation 3 or a flat screen telly.

Arena 2.0
How do you get Arena 2.0 to show what opening book is being used.
George
George
Under the Options menu, select "Appearance" and click on the "Main Window" button. Under "additional items" there is a "Opening classification and/or FEN" check box.
Opps, sorry I just re-read your question...you are looking for the opening book...not the name of the opening. There is the "Book" menu where you can set the book to be used and various options...but I did not see a way for Arena to display the book being used in the main interface. If there is a way I do not know it.
