These Mysticum machines look awesome, but where do you order the hardware from?

Mysticum is a do-it-yourself project! The necessary Windows pc (mainboard, notebook, tablet, media box or whatever) is of course commercial, but chessboard, housing and controller pcb have to be assembled/soldered.

Yep, got that ;-) I meant stuff like the controller pcb?

I have an old notebook that's surplus to requirements so was just having a think around what I might do with it.

Hi Wardy,

there's an assembly guide in Englisch, and I have the suitable pcb for you.

For a description see the link below!

Hi,

if you are near Regensburg, Germany, during November 10-12, 2017, you could join our 6th Mysticum workshop!

The linked page is written in German, maybe Google helps...? :?

Your work looks great I have an RFT Chess-Master 4MHz and love the weight the pieces etc not a strong player but fun. Shame your not round the corner to me I would like to see what could be done to one of these. The build quality of these is great OK one light no longer works but all in all it was a great buy several years ago now.

Hi,

for those, who want to have a complete Mysticum or parts of it and cannot or don't want to assemble it on their own, can buy a complete unit or parts of it.

Go here for more information!

Hi Michael,

thanks for the update information on your project.

I have a question on the "Mysticum complete": is there a way to (easily) update the engines stored in the tablet ?

Please excuse me if this question has already been asked for or answered to elsewhere.

Best regards,

Mauro

Hi all,

This is very interesting, it’s a shame I’m on a cruise during your next workshop, otherswise I would have loved to come and watch.

Mauro beat me to the question of other engines.

I’m beginning to understand Michaels questions elsewhere 😄

Cheers,

Al.

Of course - disassemble the bottom cover (5 screws), take out the micro sd card of the tablet, store additional chess engines into the folder \engine\ and reassemble your Mysticum.

Additional engines regards, Michael

What's interesting is if everyone were to get the same tablet making them identical. Means you could have some good matches and tournaments between owners.

not easy to answer, because it depends on the date of your order and how many orders I've in process at that time. (It should be fun for me to assemble a Mysticum, but not real work.... :P)

Let's put it like this: If you would order now, you would get your complete Mysticum before Christmas!

Christmas surprise regards, Michael
