Hi Paul
I guess my first project when I receive the Rev II will be to see the speed ups for all of the emulations
I have already checked the Rev I emulation speed ups against the original modules in this thread
http://hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=46625#46625

basic speed up in the Rev I was about 4x..give or take
once that has been established WunderMachine will take on the Rev II London
that will not be such an easy task though
both computers are huge and will take up my entire desk
unless I can convince the wife to let me use the dining room table
she will probably reluctantly agree but not speak to me for awhile
I can live with the silence
come to think of it..that would be a great feature for the Rev lll

Voice Feature Regards
Steve

That would be a total Crush Martin
my guess is WunderBoy would not even make 1 full point in a 10 game match
WM is strong but it is not a

Having established a speed up for the REV ll London of 6.26x over the London 68020 module...we can estimate the rating of the Rev ll London emulation at around 2300 as follows..
Selective Search rates the London 020 ..2175
6.26x is about 2.5 doublings ..
50-60 elo increase per doubling brings the elo to around 2325
say..2300

the WM achieved a performance rating of 2614 in the 20 games played against the Resurrection I and II (see above games)

http://hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=53056#53056

so i dont think the match will be very close...however i will try a 3 game mini-match to see
if REV ll London can manage at least one draw ill expand the match to 5 games and if close(say at at least 1.5 Pts for the Rev ll ) ill expand the match to the full 10 games

Match Preparations Now Underway Regards
Steve

Well Paul
the wife wouldnt go for my plan to set up both computers on the dining room table
some nonsense about guests coming and going for the holidays
anyway..
as my desk is simply not big enough to support both computers at the same time i have to settle for this
i know it aint pretty but it will have to do

Now that is really memorable: A Wundermaschine on a cardboard box

 Phoenix chess systems ought to build a Rev III on the basis of a drone, to have the thing floating stable in mid-air so that people could have the antique WM on a good old-fashioned desk...

Ideas by the dozen regards

it is the original box that the Wundermachine was shipped in from Germany to me
this is highly collectible amd collectors worldwide have offered me many euro for it

Game One of this history making match begins
Time Control for the games will be 1 Min./Avg
Rev ll London has white in the first game

WM is out of book first at move 12
RIIL is out at move 13

Play is even until move 18 when the RIIL makes a strange"Petrosian like" backwards move with the N to its original square..this results in the loss of a P a few moves later
WM wins another P at move 38 resulting in a 2 P advantage but both P's are doubled leaving some drawing chances
RIIL does not play the best defense and is forced to resign at move 54

[Black "Mephisto WunderMachine(Genius 5)"]

Game 2 and RIIL is out of book first at move 12
WM at move 17!
WM chooses a wild variation in the Two Knights .. resulting in a massive exchange of pieces early on
by move 23 all pieces are gone except for B+R's and WM is saddled with no less then 3 isolated P's
Neither side feels the needs to 0-0 after several more piece exchanges
the game then drifts to a lifeless draw

[Date "2013.12.15"]
[Round "2"]
[White ""Mephisto WunderMachine(Genius 5)]
[Black ""Phoenix Rev II London]
[Time Control "1 Min./Avg."]

58.Kd4 Bb5 59.Bd3 Ba4 60.Bd8 Kg7 *

FINAL POSITION

[fen]3B4/6k1/3p3p/3P2pP/b2K1b2/3B1P2/8/8 w - - 0 61[/fen]

I called it a Draw here
both sides have been shuffling their B's and K's for the last 15 moves
WM was showing a score of -.15 and RIIL +.24

RIIL achieves a moral victory not only drawing with the dark pieces but forcing the match to be extended to 5 games

WM Leads 1.5-.5 Regards

Hi Steve, come to think of it, didn't you play the WM against Harvey Williamson with his 63030 Mephisto London for SS? The result was a drubbing by the WM if my memory serves. Still, cardboard box or no, both those machines are a thing of beauty. Such a great thread this.
