Thanks, Hans. Only about 30 produced.
Steve, did your Scisys President come with an original box and
owner's manual?...or was the production run so small as to not
warrant them?

you can tell by the sticker on the box and manual

Yep, but on closer look the 'Septennial' sticker has gone from the front
of the game. At least I don't seem to be able to see it. No big deal I suppose
but it does tend to detract from the overall collectable value. Still, it does
all seem in good condition, especially the box.

I've noticed over the years that the Septennial is considered quite rare,
but it's not nearly as rare as the Champion USCF, nor the elusive Elite.

A Conchess T8 and L16 module combo
dont see that for sale all that often

http://www.ebay.com/itm/141331416971?

The Monarch board just like all of the Conchess wooden boards were built like tissue paper
very poor workmanship and prone to defects
the metal Escorter board holds up better and can take all modules

Keep the modules and forget about the board Regards

Well if we define "rare" as how often it appears on Ebay...
then i would say you are right
Septennials do appear more often then the USCF SE

here's another one..

Careful, this is NOT a Septennial. Either that, or the overlay has been
peeled off the playing surface. Either way, there is little collector value.
Best wait for another one to come along. A shame!
L
PS The Septennial stickers are probably easy enough to make with a
good photocopier. They are just light gauge paper. I'm not suggesting
the seller is dishonest, he just does'nt know his chess computers like
we do.

Here's a fairly rare Novag Savant:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111396225388 ... 1438.l2649

I messaged the seller and asked for a photo of the playing surface
with several moves having been played. His response?..
"Sorry, it is boxed up"
This of course is code for "this thing is kaputt"

Its kinda funny(as well as sneaky) how the seller makes a close-up of the Savant on the box all by itself..cropping out the rest of the box... in an effort to make it seem it is a photo of the actual computer with the pieces being displayed

some folks think everyone else was born ...
