Another run-0-the-mill machine, an ordinary garden variety Fidelity CC1,
all complete and superb by the look of it.
You guys on the lookout for an example of the world's first released
dedicated chess computer...here's your chance. Of course you will need
the seller's permission to bid from your country.
When these rarities come along, I invariably 'follow' them out of curiosity.
In this case it seems the seller is unaware of what s/he is selling.

warrant them?

Hi Steve,

If I remember well i must have a magazine (Dutch Computer chess) where a game is in ore some more, i have to dig into that ,but that is not a 100% promise ,maybe i mixed up the President with a other computer
Ore only the results is there, but i know it played vs Humans
I also know some games of the President where take over by other computers because of the problems with it.
Back then Jan Louwman did play with his computer team against many chess clubs
I am now on Holiday
But back then Dutch pioneer Jan Louwman did have 3 of them! of that i am 100% sure

Archive regards,Hans

Hi Hans
yes it would be interesting to see the games
according to Veldhuis's site the President is about 1500 elo
i was thinking of a short 3 game match(1 min./avg) Vs. the Novag Opal II
also about 1500 Elo
what do you think?

also i see Mike Watters has set up a very nice page for the President

Hello Steve,

yes the Opal II can be a good opponent, maybe better to take the Conchess Standard ore after the game vs Opal II

In the years ahead expect a lot of Citrines to have gawd awful fade
rings on the home squares. They are a machine with good furniture
value, as the one in the picture shows. We all like to think we are smart,
and what better a symbol of intellect than an exquisite wooden chess
computer?

Just won this http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =746782782
and got it today, got nice surprise to find out that it is a Jade 2 all up it cost me about $14 US to get it. It may not be much of a collector unit but I like the form factor of the Jade and the fact that it is a Jade 2 just makes it all that much better.

I think it's a heckuva collector unit: One of Novag's most innovative portable designs with the same great program of the Zircon II, one of the best openings variability of any board large or small, dual LCDs and a truly pocketable size.

I treasure both of mine and it took me 2 years to acquire them about 3 years ago. Even then they were rare, but now they hardly come up on eBay at all. You got yours for an absolute steal.

Envious Regards,
Dave

This would be one for a collector i would have thought the board became obsolete years ago.

Nice Condition Fidelity EAS Budapest

I chuckled at the sellers statement...
"if you choose the "Buy it Now" option, I will waive the shipping fees"

http://www.ebay.com/itm/191259546187

this is code for...
if you will over pay 3x for this computer I will pay the $30 bucks shipping

NOT... Regards

The Master Modder is at it again
this time you can modify your Fidelity EAG/EAS with this Mother board to a Modified dual processor Fidelity V5
in keeping with the non authentic spirit of the whole auction..
it includes a copy of the manual and a copy of the V5/V8 addendum
dont see the Spracklen letter which was included in the real manual discussing the actual speedup achieved with the dual processors
i guess he couldn't copy that
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chess-Computer- ... 20e9809e34

What he cannot copy is this....

My Guess is it sells for big bucks

A Fake Is Still A Fake Regards
