Yes, it is strange. On my PC running Chrome I can only see 8 photos.
Also, on my iPad I can only see 8 photos unless I use the Ebay App,
in which case all 10 photos appear.

You are right about the pieces not being original. Fidelity went
cheap on the pieces and reed switches, both were junk. Presumably
the sale will include the original pieces, and hopefully the reed
switches have been replaced with good ones.

Just how fragile are these early Fidelity units? I realize this is a relative question, but how hard is it to replace the reed switches? Parts readily available?

Hi Brian, the Fidelity units are quite solid and well built. They did,
however, get dudded by the company supplying the reed switches,
and got cheap and nasty ones, instead of paying extra for good quality
ones. It was a bad business call.
The reed switches themselves are quite easily purchased at pretty
much any electronic supply store. They are also easy to replace once
you have done one. You will need a soldering iron and some common
sense to get the old ones out.
The Fidelity Elegance is best described as ..... elegant.

Thanks Larry, one thing that I haven't found yet are schematics for these games. It would be helpful to see these specifications for parts and such. Especially for those parts that tend to have a higher failure rate.

Given that the humble Elegance went for over $800 in my money, I'd
be surprised if this one does not bring over 1k euro.

$1525.... I bailed at about $1K.
Still, the winning bidder got it for a fair price, IMO.
Shipping cost to Australia of $86 put me off a bit.

My guess is the young seller honestly believes it left the factory
like that, but a tube of superglue was all it took.

I'm interested in seeing if this one goes for anything like
it's asking price:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... ink:top:en

I remember seeing one in Peter Parr's Chess Discount Sales. It's
basically CC9 with a wooden table built around it.
Not my cup of tea...

Sorry, didn't know it had a voice. That makes it even more tacky. :o
