It looked like such a great possible buy -the sort of thing Larry would be interested in :) -but then I read that the battery compartment had corrosion & batteries no longer work.

Possibly Fixable, but...Regards,
Dave

As long as the game works on power adaptor there should'nt be any real
problem. Just a bad connection somewhere.

Yes I would be interested normally, but I got one of these a few
months back. Now I want an Excel Mach4...rare as hen's teeth.

Actually it can be a huge problem. My other hobby is vintage radios and I've seen many radios with severe damage from leaked batteries. One unit had very little leakage, the battery contacts were perfectly clean as the batteries leaked in the middle where AA meets AA. Many months later the radio had defects. The fumes alone that that had leaked from the batteries damaged the delicate circuit traces and began to spread like a cancer. A unit may work for months or years but that does not mean that the insides are not getting eaten inside out. Many times the damage is not even visible. The damage can be crawling inside wires or circuit traces, increasing resistance, wearing out parts prematurely and "eating" copper. To me, battery corrosion is always a big deal.

"Only" 295 Euro. We should Order 5 Units for that Price .

He believes the plastic bomb is worth that price because he saw a high price at Amazon.

I offered him 9 euro but he disagreed.
The computer chess scene gets more and more mad guys.

- do these guys really think that they can get it so cheap?!

The last few posts are Perfect examples of a free market system at work....

Sellers asking prices ridiculously ..high
Buying asking prices ridiculously ..low

Laissez-faire Regards
