The best is in the description :

A original adapter MEPHISTO HGN 5001 in a small reconstituted box (photocopying and cardboard; see photo)
...About pieces , it lacks a black jumper, a white bishop and a white tower

Modena (complete) is maybe 50 or 60. Not 300.

It's not upside-down, it's from Australia!

Hey, collectors - a Fidelity Chess Challenger just appeared on eBay. This is the first model, complete with the ranks and files reversed! (How in the world could a company possibly release a computer with that serious and obvious an error? Didn't anybody there actually play a game on one before they went out the door?)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Fidelit ... 1872071275

I put in a token bid, just to put it at the top of my eBay Summary so I can watch how bidding goes. The computer's definitely an oddity. Would anybody buy it to play it?
Cheers,

Jeff B.

Thats true
Fidelity released the CC3 only a few months later with the proper notation and tripled the number of levels

Thrice Regards
Steve

BTW...the CC1 input notation is also reversed to match the mislabeled rank and files
so e2-e4 is entered as 5b-5d

Well, I'm glad they fixed that so as to remove any possible confusion.

Amazing considering there is not even a picture of the thing working,
nor a picture of the owner's manual.
No box regards...
