always wondered what sellers like this are thinking when they post an auction that they themselves know to be grossly overpriced
this clown must have paid about $300-$400 for his Citrine
so he says to himself...
"I know ..ill post it on Ebay for 8X what I paid for it and make a killing!"

Moronic Regards
Steve
He must have read our posts. The price, without comment, is now $2000. At that discount, I might just jump on it.

A Sucker Is Born Every Minute Regards,
Dave

Ooops
now he has raised it to $2350

Real Clown Regards
Steve
I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks that the 5 Watchers means there are 5 interested potential buyers (hence the price increase) rather than what is really true: 5 people are watching the idiocy.

Gentle note to seller: A brand new Novag Citrine is a very nice item, but DON'T CONFUSE IT WITH A RETIREMENT PLAN!

V11(v2) Regards
Steve
Went for $AUS1490. The guy making these mainboards has established
himself as a reliable supplier. I was interested, but not at that price.
Unlike some, I see these mainboards not as a modification, but rather as
a simple plug-and-play modular upgrade that can be reversed at any time,
and can be sold separately for a good price. It can even be argued that the
original mainboard is being mothballed and therefore preserved while the
upgrade board is being used.
I'm wondering what the playing strength rating for this board will be.
We will soon find out. I expect that Steve Braid will make a board for
anyone else now, at the same price.

The V11 is a modification to begin with
here we have a modified computer twice removed
just because you can remove your original motherboard and stuff your EAS/EAG with this thing in no way makes it less modified
in fact i argue its worse ..
a perfectly good bona fide Fidelity mother board has to be removed and delegated to the dust bin of history all so this contraption can be inserted

the man is copying Spracklen eproms and throwing them together with processors and clock speeds never released by Fidelity
hardly what i would call an "upgraded" Fidelity board
more like a "modified" Fidelity board

just because these things have a high value does not make them any less modified
crack cocaine has a high street value as well
and i guess there are some drug pushers that have a good reliable reputation
this sort of thing is the very definition of a modified computer

Steady down, Steve. Seems like you are about to send in the Marines.
If we stop looking at this thing as an "upgrade" or a "modification", but
a separate chess computer, we might fine some agreement. Let's call
Steve Braid's computer the "Star Braid" or something. This way it's
completely divorced from Fidelity if you can bring yourself to just ignore
the Fidelity logo. :o

Iven, it is the chess computer and the box. NOT just the box.
The post says "As new in box"

Heh, but the photo shows only the box and not the computer, as some previous lots shown concrete walls and other items except computers...

Don't Fret Peter
lots of things missing from this auction....

no original boxes
manual looks like a copy
no velvet pouches for the pieces
no idea which version of the King Engine
the Smartboard has been taped up to show the Ranks and Files and I bet it would ruin the board if you tried to remove it
actually this is really silly..can you imagine someone paying for an expensive high-end chess computer like this and not being able to keep track of the ranks and files?

if I were looking for a Tasc I would pass on this and wait for another to come along
