Correlating Price With Number Of Watchers Regards,
Dave
Given the price increases and that one negative feedback (which anyone would have to interpret as a huge red flag) I would normally say that adding items like this to one's watch list is equivalent to feeding the trolls. Of, if not feeding trolls, then nurturing them and showing love.

However, in light of your theory that the price is related to the number of watchers, I have added this to my watch list in the hope that we can see a $5,000 asking price reached before the end of the auction.

I encourage others to do the same in the hope we can assist this seller in reaching a whole new unprecedented level of eBay schachcomputer idiocy.

Yes, I thought the recent auction for the Elite Premier was a smokin' good deal and wasn't surprised to see it sell so quickly. OTOH, I thought the EAG V2 auction was fairly priced and thought it might sit a bit due to the non-original pieces and no box. Just shows how strong the market is for anything EAG these days.

EAG regards,

Novag Star Diamond for sale on eBay. Suckers beware!

There is clearly a trend for absurd pricing.
There are also 2 Citrines for sale. One guy wants $1700, the other $1800.
The former is our old friend who was going to sell it to his buddy if it didn't get $2400 or so.

Maybe I'll list one of my Novag Tournament Auto-Sensory boards with a Distributor for $50,000. After all, if the market is as strong as these seller think, why not? :D
Cheers,

always wondered what sellers like this are thinking when they post an auction that they themselves know to be grossly overpriced
this clown must have paid about $300-$400 for his Citrine
so he says to himself...
"I know ..ill post it on Ebay for 8X what I paid for it and make a killing!"

Moronic Regards
Steve
He must have read our posts. The price, without comment, is now $2000. At that discount, I might just jump on it.

A Sucker Is Born Every Minute Regards,
Dave

Ooops
now he has raised it to $2350

Real Clown Regards
Steve
I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks that the 5 Watchers means there are 5 interested potential buyers (hence the price increase) rather than what is really true: 5 people are watching the idiocy.

When Pigs Fly Regards,
Dave
Well Bozo The Clown has now raised the price again to $2450
I guess he knows we are watching ..so a little shout out to him ..

You Need Some Fresh Air Dude Regards
Steve
Great news! The price is now reduced by 30% ($1700). Time for all Watchers to jump on this deal!

Live Like Trump, Buy A $1700 Citrine Regards,
Dave

Saitek Renaissance chess computer with Sparc module

Post by plook »

Greetings, all. I've been lurking in these forums for about a month now, so this is my first post. As such I can't post links but will try to do so in the next post. I hope that's OK.

This came up on eBay this morning. Starting bid $1. Refreshing to see an auction not listed as $3,500 buy it now or best offer.

Saitek Renaissance chess computer with Sparc module
eBay #: 321841263079

I've not seen this vintage set appear to date. (I am not the seller.) I'm sure it will go for far more than I am willing to pay.

Love to have one Regards,

Douglas

The auction is a bit confusing
the seller must have the power supply as he says the Sparc module is working ..but at the same time he is not including the power supply in the auction ??
does he have the power supply?
if not ..then how does he know that the module is working?
if he does..why not include it in the auction?
makes no sense to me
the board without the module will run on batteries and it seems to be running ok
the truth is that a large part of the final price will be because of the Sparc module and not the board so if i were bidding i would want this issue cleared up

Powerless Regards

Hi, Steve. I discovered later that this is the same eBay seller (baxter) who shipped a working Novag Robot Adversary to the USA only to have it ruined in transport and subsequently refunded the buyer's $1750. Ouch.

His auction says you may power it with a 9v 1a tip-positive supply with the correct inner/outer barrel diameters. I power an RS 1650L with a supply from an obsolete 90s-era US Robotics Sportster modem and it works perfectly well. Perhaps his power supply does double duty as well?

Careful with that polarity, Eugene Regards,

That should read 2150L. The 1650 (no L) is only 6 volts.

Too much eBay Regards,

Douglas
