I saw that one and got a twinge of "I want it".

I already have a 6113, but not with those pieces!

Maybe those pieces make it more desirable. Could they actually be the first pieces that Fidelity used for the 6113?!! 😎

Always hopeful,
Dick

Spoilsport!

It never hurts to create a little doubt in prospective buyers minds, Steve. 😉

I might have bid on this one just to have the only known 6113 with those pieces. Rarity = value, a famous shyster once told me!

Always looking for a buck,

Dick

I'm the seller of the Fidelity Designer 2265 in question. Just to let everyone know: The original pieces are now included in addition to the gold/silver colored pieces originally shown.

When I first opened this set that had been stored away, the original pieces weren't there which drove me a little crazy because I'm ordinarily pretty organized. Anyway, turns out that I had stored the 2265 pieces with my Fidelity Designer Display 2000 set.

Anyone interested, please see the revised auction description and the added photos to show the board with the original pieces.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fidelity-Design ... 1876616526?

By the way, I'm also selling the Novag Diamond II:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOVAG-DIAMOND-I ... 1876585907?

It should be interesting how it goes juxtaposed against the following oft-mentioned listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOVAG-Star-Diam ... 1742538612?

As Steve said,

It's Always Something Regards :),

Well, I do have a complete separate Fidelity 2265 set still; it remains one of my favorite units.

I am sad to give up the Novag Diamond II, but I'm simply having to downsize a bit (which included saying goodbye to my backup Fidelity 2265). After all, as I've said in the past, I'm a player who collects to play. To some extent, this is also about what Dirty Harry said: 'A man has to know his limitations.' I'm hoping that the buyer of the Diamond II will be able to take full advantage of its capabilities.

Que Sera Sera Regards,
Dave

I think Steve's referring to the old "I don't have the power cord game". Also maybe to do with the unusual starting position of the chess pieces as well.

Chess Variant Regards,

Dave C wrote: Steve - are you aware of original factory upgrades?
actually i am not
in his description the seller says ..or is quoting someone who says..that the CCR( Computer Chess Reports) mention upgrades from an EAG to the Premiere
I checked and there is a vague mention in Vol.2 No.3 as follows:
"if you already own an Elite 2 ,it will be possible to upgrade to Premiere ,though pricing is not yet announced"

i could find no mention of this again in any subsequent Reports or any of ICD's advertisements from this date onward

Fidelity was owned by Mephisto at the time of the Premiere's release so if there really were Factory Authorized upgrades i imagine there would be some German literature discussing this

Unknown Upgrade Regards
Steve
HI Steve, That upgrade was possible, my R.I.P serbian friend on Montclair NJ offered it to me once. Now I just checked his old pamphlets and the price was $449 US dollars.
I wish I had regards

Thanks Mike
i think i know who you are talking about
the guy who ran PBM International?
i just looked through some of his brochures and pamphlets that i have
couldnt find an offer to upgrade the Premiere but i do see him offering all kinds of Fidelity upgrades
not sure if these were Fidelity Factory Authorized though?
did he ever mention to you that they were?
if not it could explain why these upgraded Premieres dont have Fidelity Serial numbers

Probably was done by Fidelity, I remember he told me It would take 2 weeks because He had to send the computer to Miami. I remember this because I would to go his store every 1-2 months (just to look at what I couldnt afford) and we would talk about it for a while. Very nice guy that sadly passed few years back. Now... I dont know if fidelity was located in Miami or not.

Flamingos regards
