Thanks Sebi and keep up the fine reports.Sebastian Boehme wrote: Referring to the questions from Graham I can say that much: I had a short talk with the author of Jonny (Johannes Zwanzger) and he told me that there first will be a release of Jonny, if he can give it a clear improvement. Information about ParSOS yet to come.
Kind regards so far,
Sebastian Boehme

I wish Hiarcs good luck against Shredder - and a very good opening book. Shredder plays on a computer just like mine - 2x Xeom X5365 - 8x3 GHz. In case you don't win, blame the comp (As far as I've heard, Hiarcs is playing on Harvey's 2x Xeon X5355 - 8x 2.66 GHz - Harvey is this right?) So i wish good luck and better play to Hiarcs. Are you already using Hiarcs 12?
Kind regards,
Lukas

Yes Hiarcs plays on my 8x2.66. This is not yet Hiarcs 12 - there is still work to be done!
Happy New Year,
Harvey

In Round 5 Hiarcs was able to beat Shredder in a very safe way. Shredder missed several possible better moves and thus throw away drawing chances maybe.

Here another very safe win by Hiarcs vs. Gandalf.
Gandalf was a bit deeper in book but then thrown out by the novelty 22.Rc4
From this point on there maybe were little drawing chances, but Gandalf played unprecise moves later and thus allowed Hiarcs a bonebreaking kingside attack. Here is the game for you:

Here are the other results from Round 6 of the IPCCC 2007 at Paderborn:
Spike vs. ClusterToga Draw
Rybka vs. IsiChess 1 : 0
Diep vs. Jonny 0 : 1
Shredder vs. ParSOS currently still running but Shredder evaluation is already around 6.80, so Shredder should have the clearly better winning chances there.
Games of the final round to follow in a bit.

Shredder won its 6th round game vs. ParSos, this means the following for
the pairings of Round 7:
Jonny vs. Hiarcs
Diep vs. Rybka
ClusterToga vs. IsiChess
Gandalf vs. Shredder
ParSOS vs. Spike
The interesting thing about the standings is now that Hiarcs and Rybka both have 4.5/6 ; Rybka only has the better Buchholz-Ranking
But tomorrow Rybka will play Diep (2.5) and Hiarcs will play Jonny (4), so theoretically spoken if both Hiarcs and Rybka win then they could become equal in Buchholz. But even then there is still some chemistry possible as it then will depend on how the other engines play.
You also should know that Jonny and ClusterToga have both 4 out of 6 points. So if one of them wins and maybe Hiarcs and Rybka or both struggle, then Jonny or ClusterToga can maybe get ahead of them.
The most exciting game anyway surely will be Jonny vs Hiarcs and I am looking already forward to being the operator for such an exciting game.
I look forward to welcome all of you to watching it tomorrow at 10:00 German time on Playchess Server (Broadcast room).
Kind regards and Good Night from Paderborn,
