Collector's Corner...On The Privat and Private Line

Post by Steve B »

While the Fidelity Elite Privat is fairly well known ..not much seems to be known about the Fidelity Private Line..
so I thought i'd list some differences i have noticed between the two...

Private Line:
Red Display Unit
Works with Private Line Board Only
Program-Glasgow 3.6 Mhz
4 digit 7-segment LED display
All Options and "New Game" activated by Game Control Key
Sound adjusted by Sound Key

Image

Elite Privat
Black Display Unit
Works with both Private Line and Elite Privat boards
Program-Glasgow 5 Mhz
dual(Split Screen)-4 digit 7-segment LED display
All Options and Sound activated by Sound key
Game Control Key used for "New Game " only

Image

Comparative Regards

Very Interesting Jose
The Wiki shows the Privat with a split screen display like mine
http://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/in ... ite_Privat
it seems you have a Black Private Line
everything is the same except for the color of the unit

We Shall name your special computer

Privat Line Regards
Steve

Here is the Game
As both computers were aware that the game might be included in the Wiki
they came all dressed up with board and pieces polished
(Rebel playing in the Mobile board had its disc pieces cleaned)
Tension was high with the Rebel heavily favored to win
The Wiki rates the Rebel 1855 and the Fidelity Glasgow 1720

In The Game
Rebel was Out Of Book at move 3,PL at move 5
both sides manage not to 0-0 and after a mass exchange of pieces PL comes out
ahead a P which Rebel wins it right back a few moves later
a drawn R and P ending ensues which both sides play accurately
the game is agreed drawn

FINAL POSITION

[fen]8/3pK3/7R/2k1P3/8/8/3r4/8 w - - 0 66[/fen]

i called it a draw here as the play could go on aimlessly until the 50 move rule is invoked
This is an EGTB draw
Rebel was showing 0.0 and PL +.28
