p.s. How long should we wait for this email before it's "too late" and we need to contact support?

Thanks, Jeremy

Email arrived, purchase made, downloading now. One more question: will there be a crossgrade option for Mac purchasers who want a PC version, too?

Thanks, Jeremy

Also, I'm a book subscriber. I don't seem to have a valid license for the online book access, though (my personal login info doesn't work). Where can I find that license info?

Thanks, Jeremy

Short answers as I am really busy right now.

1) There will be a cross platform discount, it is best to email me if you are interested on hiarcs [at] hiarcs {dot com

2) Book access codes will be emailed to book subscribers in the next 24 hours.

Please note it is likely that my responsiveness will not be great for the next day or so as I am swamped so please be patient.
Best wishes,
Mark

No worries, I have plenty to 'explore' in the meantime.

Best and thanks, Jeremy

discount email

Post by tomgdrums »

I know you have about a bajillion emails and things going but I am just inquiring as to whether or not there are still some discount emails to be sent to customers?

I have not yet received mine even though I have purchased Hiarcs 12, 13 and Junior 11, 12 and 13.

Not complaining! I am patient! And if it takes an extra day or two to get all the emails out that is cool.

Hi Mark and Harvey,

sorry, I am not a Hiarcs customer (yet). The screenshots of Chess Explorer look very nice and well-arranged. Of course I am biased due to my old DOS-MDI IsiChess with up to ten game windows, simultan option, sophisticated opening book editor with tree-, statistics and list of games leading to the current position including (reversed) transpositions. Therefor, some questions.

1. Is it possible to have multiple windows associated with the same document aka game, f.i. to analyze different positions of that game in parallel. If yes, does one document share the hash-table?

2. Is there a mode to play simultaneously on multiple boards? I.e after entering a move on board 1 to automatically switch to board 2 (with some delay), where the engine plays it moves and waits for input, and so on with as many boards as defined by a simultaneous tournament manager.

3. Is it possible to tile several board windows in the frame-window, to see two or more boards side by side?

4. Is the window arrangement in a tabbed board window fixed or sizable? I.e. smaller board versus bigger notation, etc.

5. I assume one can assign one or two engines independently per document. Is it possible to play tournaments, i.e. on 8 boards with up to 16 different engines?

Thanks,
Gerd

The difference between Hiarcs C.E. & Deep Hiarcs C.E.

Post by JamesC »

Dear Mark

Congratulations on your new software. I'm very much looking forward to trying it out!

Am I right in thinking that the only differences between the Deep Hiarcs Chess Explorer and Hiarcs Chess Explorer packages are 1) the MP engine, and 2) access to online EGTB and opening book (i.e. this is disabled in the GUI for the SP version)?

Thanks

James

Nice work! Installation and integration to my existing pgn databases was easy and quick, and the speed of searches is simply outstanding.

Please! A dgt interface for game play and I'm in heaven...
