There is also a v1.5.1 update available. Please use Help->Check for updates to access the download.

Those using older versions can update directly to the latest v1.5.1 version.

I updated to 1.5.1 (HCE - mac version), but now fans become very loud (from a standard 950rpm to 4000rpm!) when I start an engine, no matter which. Tried with Hiarcs, DeepHiarcs (set to 4, 6, 8 core), Stockfish and Critter

Any chess engine (unless playing on a weakened level) will use alot of CPU resources and hence the fan will be required to cool it. That is completely independent of HIARCS Chess Explorer.

I'm getting a lot higher use of the fan due to the very warm weather, haven't noticed 1.5 making any difference.

Thank you for the answers, after a reboot the problem disappeared. All engines conf parameters were resetted btw
