Hi

I agree with most of your smart remarks, I would have preferred a separate display unit rather than on the board. The consequence is that it makes the huge chessboard while the squares are smaller than those of a DGT-Eboard. It must have to reach out and play what is not comfortable to play seated. This is the main reason I hesitate to buy the computer.

Yes, I see your point. But I still think that this is the best thing that the chess computer market has seen for years. Better than the 2D experience with Fritz and Stockfish etc. Better than my short-lived encounter with the Novag Citrine, with its hieroglyphic display, even!

In fact I think it may be cheaper to get the board from there than anywhere else? Adding the emulations directly from Ruud to this price appears cheaper than the special price offered by Phoenix before Xmas?

Yes...as predicted
the inferior DGT Rev ll's are already taking a price hit
while the far superior Phoenix Rev ll's value is holding steady as a rock

Actually, when you factor in the cost for the full emulation, protective bag and shipping, the phoenix special price remains highly competitive.

Not quite, I was looking at the mobile online site on my phone which has about £400 off the price but the main site still carries the original price!

I'm guessing that they won't honour the mobile site preorder or maybe it's the VAT that's missing on that site.

All the custom stuff will go in a separate wood box which will connect to the board with a coiled USB cable. On the front of the box, a label:

Revolution I
Serial number 000001
I'd be happy to buy one with serial #000002 as soon as the system is available.

Hi Mike
to be honest setting up a position with the normal Polgar modules is not so easy either
anyway..
i was able to set up a position with the Polgar emulation
its tricky because you have to remember to always use the keyboard for the Emulation and not the keys for the Rev II
You have to make sure when you use the ENT and CLR keys that you are using the Polgar's keys and not the Rev ll's ENT or Clear Keys

to set up a position
remove all of the pieces
then Press POS and ENT(on the Polgar screen..not the Rev II keys)
you will see a bright line above the Rook Piece symbol key
you can now place rooks on the board
one press of the Rook Symbol key for WR.. two presses for BR
now you can choose the other pieces
always one press for W
two presses for B

when all done press the CLR key(again on the Polgar screen NOT the Rev II
screen)
it takes a little practice but you will get it

Hey Steve, maybe Guru Dalai Lama sends his regards (although even then, I'm not sure he uses the term), but not the musician Ravi Shankar (sitar). :D

Steve, thanks man. But I give up, I was like 90 minutes total trying to set up a position and somehow it doesnt work. Maybe FEKALI has a video LOL!!!
From now on E1 refers to the ENT POLGAR, and E2 refers to the REV II' ent.
OK here I go lets say I want to set up a position with 2WR, 2BR and 1Black Knight
1) press POS and the ENT (using E2 for both instances)
2)place both WRs on the board and now waht? Do I press E1 once more two switch to BLACK, or do I press POS x2 or only once to start placing the black rooks

Im going crazy, another question Steve, If learn this madness. All the other Mephistos work the same way right?
Well I hope Steve or some other REV brother can shed a light on this

Thank you guys

confused as S#@% regards

YES
As i wrote..
One press of the Piece Symbol key for White
two presses for black

nope.. they dont
Setting up positions for the Polgar is not the same as for the other mephisto modules

it might be helpful if you had the manuals for the modules
Alain's Site does have most of them
