Question regarding Milton Bradley Phantom

Post by Larry »

This one is on Australian ebay at the moment, an easy drive
from my place:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261332045988 ... 1438.l2649

It sure looks good. I looked on schachcomputer.info and I'm not sure
the one there is the same as this one on ebay.
My question: Is the MB Phantom the same, or almost the same as
the Fidelity Phantom? Do they have the same program? It looks like one
has a display and the other not. What other differences are there?
To Jonathon: If you intend bidding on this one, let me know and I
won't bid against you.

I always assumed it is the same as the MB Grandmaster which plays around 1400 ELO, but I could be wrong.

Forget it Larry
The MB Robots(Phantom,Grandmaster and Milton) were all programmed by Taylor and as Nick said in the 1300-1400 range all much lower then any of the Fidelity Phantom Robots (Phantom,Chesster Phantom and Chesster Eyeball Phantom)
with Fidelity you are getting basically the Par Program by the Spracklens

this is not to say the MB Robots are not fine additions to any collection...they are..but there is no comparing the engines to Fidelity

Apples And Oranges Regards

The seller is buying drinks all round tonight.... it went for $567.
These things tend to make great conversation pieces provided they
are in excellent cosmetic condition, and of course fully functional, which
this one is.
