Hi Steve,

Thanks, I am really pleased that you enjoyed the test. Your score was amazing. Master Class chess in these first two Tests!!

Name Level Game 1 Game 2 RATING
Steve B. - USA Tourn 2264 2379 2328

You scored 2379 in game 2 and increased your average to 2328!

Hopefully as we go through the centuries there will be some tougher tests for you! :)

The Turks performance in this game was only ELO 1971 so you probably would have had a chance to beat the Automaton!

We need more volunteers!!

Best regards
Nick

Well OTB my rating would be at least 1000 Pts less so i am not going to quit my day job
:P

at least we know that with 10 different moves between me and the moved played that I am no clone of the Turk!

Hi Steve,

Well it cannot be too much of a fluke :) King CM32 512K 30 MHz performs below you :)

Name Level Game 1 Game 2 RATING
TASC CM 512K KING 2.54 NORMAL 30 Seconds 1987 2142 2073

2073 Average over two tests. I guess the old masters game style does not suit the King and confuses him.

Missing perhaps is the over the board pressure when you play an opponent but I cannot recreate that :)

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the two tests! If you get a chance, can you also please do Test 1 with Montreaux and Avenger.

I have now added Mephisto Berlin 68000 to both Tests:

Image

http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/berlin_68000.html

ACTIVE LEVEL

Image

Mephisto Berlin scores 2127 playing at 30 seconds per move. Also as expected takes top spot of the so far rated computers.

TOURNAMENT LEVEL

Image

At Tournament Level Mephisto Berlin only slightly improves with a score of 2129.

This is because in the second game Berlin performed slightly worse at tournament level when compared to its active level score.

I will add Montreaux and Avenger after Steve B. has had time to play them through Test Game 1.

Ah, wonderful. And as Nick says, an excellent platform for clone testing.

I'll have more to say on this later. Keep it up!

Good timing adding Excalibur Platinum.

Below I have consolidated all the Excalibur's. I am assuming that Steve played with Level 53 which is 30 seconds average. I have added Mirage and Alexandra to the list.

EXCALIBUR LIST FOR TEST GAME 1 - 15TH CENTURY MASTERS

Image

Amazingly best performance in Test 1 is Einstein LCD Chess Wizard and Touch Chess II.

EXCALIBUR LIST FOR TEST GAME 2 - THE TURK

Image

Test 2 looks a lot different with Excalibur Avenger performing best.

Here is the updated overall two test games rating list. I have also added CXG Legend playing level 53 30 seconds average and human players and Masters whose games are being rated.

Alexandra performed really badly in test game 2.

RATING LIST FOR TWO TEST GAMES

Image

Steve B. (Human) still ranks # 1 on the list. Best computer tested so far is Mephisto Montreaux!

Hi Reinfeld,

I just updated game one with your result. Super Connie scored 2282! Which makes it the best score by dedicated computers tested so far. If you do get a chance then please also do game too as it would be interesting to see where it ends up. Based on your score it seems that Kittinger's like game 1!

Regarding not being able to use the spreadsheet, which version of Excel are you using. Unfortunately the pop downs etc might not work with later versions but it should work just fine with Version 2010 onwards.

Best regards
Nick
