Hi Nick,
I am planning to test some more machines (and sorry for not sending the Mephisto Master Chess tests yet).
But I have a question: you stated that, when testing more machines at the same time, you leave one waiting when he wants to make a move, while serving the other machine(s). Is there no risk of additional pondering for either side?
Regards, Paul

No there is no risk. When I do this with dedicated computers, I leave the one dedicated computer's move flashing while I operate and enter the move of the other one. Once this computer starts thinking I then operate the computer that has been flashing its moves. This way neither computer is handicapping the other. When a computer is flashing its move to you, it is in standby mode therefore it does nothing while it waits for you to operate it.
Computers that also have a display that shows the move they want to play, for these I also always enter the moves onto the spreadsheet first before I operate the move on the computer and where necessary also take back the move on the computer in order to enter the correct spreadsheet move. This method also stops you from wasting any unnecessary time with your computer move entries.
For computers that don't have a display but indicate the moves on the board only I press the first highlighted (FROM) square which will then show the (TO) square. I leave the computer in this position while I update the spreadsheet before I move to the (TO) square.
If you know your computers then you can easily always adjust your test strategy to suit the computer.
The way I am testing, I have no problems operating many computers at the same time if I wanted to. I have done as many as 4 at the same time without having to sweat or panic
For example when I was testing the Gavon's I was running 2 Gavons and sometimes two dedicated computers at the same time.
Multitasking regards
Nick
