Chess Playing Marionette!

Post by Cyberchess »

:) Happy holidays everyone!

Just thought you might enjoy some 1950’s fiction pertaining to chess playing automatons.

PS: That video you linked to is US only
Chess is like painting the Mona Lisa whilst walking through a minefield.

Thanks for sharing this “Blake’s 7” episode clip. White sacrificed his queen on move 16, but black failed to capture it -- making a knight move instead. White was obviously trying for a mating net with rook, bishop knight and pawn, though I think that black slips the noose by way of K-b3 followed by Kxa4. Usually the chess scenes in film and television shows merely consist of meaningless moves, though this blitz game was well-played and a pleasure to behold.

My sincerest apologies about the blocked Hulu TV content. We ran into the same problem on another message board related to different hobby. It seems that Hulu blocks all of their media content for non US I.P. addresses. Fortunately, we have venues such as YouTube that allow us to share non disputed media globally.

:) Happy Holidays!
John
