I was going to recommend this auction by the House Of Staunton
they have posted here several times alerting members to their Ebay auctions for chess computers
they posted this Novag Super Expert C6 just this morning..but strangely they pulled the auction down...saying it was no longer available for sale...and yet there were several bids placed already

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Novag-Super-Exp ... 7675.l2557

Hmmm Regards

OK...this is always what happens to me each time I have decided, against my common sense, to get just another computer.
Now in this very moment I am two pawns ahead of SC - rook against bishop- and could go for the win OR I can get a draw for repetition of move ans get sure half a point, so..

agonizing regards

Yes they pulled the auction even with a couple of bids placed...mine
was one of them. This seller came across as honest with the earlier
sales, maybe they found a flaw in the machine stopping it from working
or something. Hopefully it will reappear. A great for Fernando.

When they get pulled i have found it's normally down to someone making an offer the seller like's. This one came up today it is wood and i love playing against a wooden Chess Computer myself

Yes well ..the listing shows it as "no longer available for sale"
that usually is code for the seller accepting a private offer to "go around " Ebay
not only cheating Ebay out of a fee but also cheating everyone that bid on the auction in good faith
hopefully that is not the case with the HOS auction
as Larry said..up to this point.. they have acted honorably in all of their auctions

I have been unlucky these days.
If I pretend to trade with you, you do not have what I want;
I try to buy to someone here, the article was already sold;
if I just think to go to eBay, the product has been retired.

Hi All,

I had exchanged messages with the folks at House Of Staunton about pulling the Super Expert "C" auction, and they explained that a potential buyer had called into question its "C" version status. They decided, in order to avoid any potential problems, to cancel the auction and do more research before listing it again. Supposedly, it will reappear this Sunday.

Eric: As much as you already have a contact with them, could you ask the guy at the other side if by chance that shop still keeps some old stuff in some vault over there>?

Hi Fern,

The gentleman's name was Shawn and I only had a brief contact with him. It seems that they've been unloading all the old stuff from their vault lately on eBay. If you have anything in particular you're looking for, you might send him a note at customerservice@houseofstaunton.com.

Regards,
-Eric
