Could you not arrange a comp-comp at the same time to make it more interesting

Yep, Leiden June 13 2015 was a great event.
Prof. Dr. Jaap van den Herik and IM Hans Böhm had a nice reading about the history of chess machines up until the Kasparov - Deep Blue event in 1997. Inbetween Hans also told an anecdote about the time he played in the same team as our Dutch legend Dr. Max Euwe. Hans was the one who used to ride him to the place where the match against another team took place. And every time that he came at Euwe's house, Euwe stood waiting outside, no matter if it was sunny weather or raining. So Hans, having a reputation of coming late to appointments, felt obliged to be on time when he was riding Dr. Euwe... ;-)

The simultan was done by Hans Böhm and Jaap van den Herik together, as you may have read on the CSVN-site. After 2 hours playing, the unfinished games were arbitrated. And to my pleasant surprise my Concerto_F20 (all feature values set to 20) was given the win, and also got the price for the best game :D

Still smiling regards,
Paul.

Well done! Yep it just goes to show you that Concerto/Legend were the best Horvath versions! Also they get a negative rap for being passive, but maybe that is unfair too.

Best regards

Hi Paul or Hans

can you mention what the final score was for the Simul Hans Böhm and Jaap van den Vs. the Dedicated computers?
a separate score for each human player please

I have clicked on all the links and I can see nice photos and good commentary but I cant find a final cross table of the games or even the final score

Squinting Regards
Steve

Hi Steve,

I wonder if you really clicked all the links ;-)
If you go to http://www.csvn.nl/index.php/nieuws/51- ... rstoernooi, you will see the game of my Concerto. And if you click on the drop-down button just above it, you can choose from all the games played.
The final score was 8-4 for Jaap and Hans: +6-2=4.

Clicking regards,
Paul.

And maybe next time you ship a free machine to Fernando,
