Modular Mephisto Vancouver

Post by vonderlasa »

I have a few questions regarding this computer.
1. Are the Modules compatible with an Exclusiv board made for a Polgar or MMII computer?
2. If I purchase one with a UK transformer, what would I need to run it on USA mains? As best I can tell, I need output of 8-9 volts, ~800mAmps.
The Vancouver manual recommends a specific adaptor but this is based on 220 V, 50Hz input. Would my US adaptor for an Exclusiv board work?
3. Apparently buying a tranformer to "adapt" USA current for a UK adaptor which has only 50 HZ input [and not 50 or 60 HZ] is a dicey proposition.

Thanks in advance to you computer and electrical gurus.

without prejudice to the statements of other members of the forum who are more experienced, for the Vancouver 68020, if you will use it in the USA, input 110 volts, 9 volts DC output, 1A-positive center. There are adapters that prevent auto-regulating power variation.
