Dedicated computer emulations: uci engines

Post by vonderlasa »

At http://www.top-5000.nl/mephisto.htm, there are downloadable uci engine emulations of varied models like Mephisto Dallas, Amsterdam MMV, etc

These are supposed to be able to run in chessbase, Arena etc. However, I cannot get them to work in CB13, CB12, ChessAssistant Aquarium, Fritz 12,13, or 14 or Arena. Is the problem because I have a 64 bit system?
Thanks in advance.

(I know about running some of them in DOSBOX but I would prefer to run in Windows 8 programs for a lot of reasons).

I know even mentioning these is heresy to Steve B, but I was never big on dogma.

I can't too - WinXP 32-bit; why - really idk...

But GideonPro and WChess works normal to me under Fritz-12 or Arena.

Don't worry that the emulations don't work
its only natural

God intended the old dedicated chess computer engines to run in dedicated chess computers and not on modern day PC's

Its better this way Regards

Beware with that kind of jokes; Steven has an strong relation with the "Elders", that can send to you an awful condemnation.

This is a sacred place and Steven is his prophet regards

Ah talking about Museums, I have to ask my learned friend. 100 years from now what would be more awe inspiring to people who visit a Museum?

a) A lovingly cared for fully functioning car made in 2015?
b) Just the engine?
c) Engine revving on a future techno computer?

Best regards

Nice tech toy!

These days I must suffer the indignation of being thrashed by “Ma Bell,” whilst tomorrow I can look forward to a drubbing from my wristwatch.
