Firends, I think the eprom from my Monte Carlo is faulty, I can't activate the functions H1 to H8, which activate a series of functions. Can you help me?

Hi,dc...I don't own a Monte Carlo, but on checking at .info just now I
see it's a magnetic sensory unit. I'm assuming the problem just arose
out of the blue, and we can suspect a bad connection somewhere. It looks
to me like the eprom is a push fit. In that case you just gently lever out
the eprom, give it a brush with perhaps an old tooth brush and just as
gently push it back in taking particular care. The legs are soft metal and
bend real easy. Once the back of the comp is off,you can normally follow the circuit lines with a bit of
practice and track down what might be the problem.
By a strange coincidence, it just so happens that I have a Monte Carlo IV
eprom right here in front of me. It's yours if you want it. I don't even remember how I came across it, but
it's been sitting in the drawer for years.
hope things work out ok..
