Mephisto Berlin Pro

Post by trefor »

Good morning,
I have acquired a Mephisto Berlin Pro, apparently upgraded to the London engine, however I have a rather simple but essential query.
Despite having the full manual inside the briefcase I am not able to actually open the computer to expose the board, being rather ham fisted I thought I would check here to see whether or not there is a release switch as I don't want to force anything

Hoping someone can help

Many thanks
Trefor

Hi
if your talking about removing the cover there is no switch
just pry the cover loose by sliding your fingers along the edges
the cover and board are pretty sturdy so a good healthy yank should do the trick

Pry With Gusto Regards

Thank you very much,
I expected the lid to be hinged as in a laptop, but all sorted now, turned it on and I have a 60 020 upgraded to London with all the pieces in the big suitcase, a very happy bunny, taking the grandkids to the park then will have a few games

Thanks again

Hi Trefor, Congrats on the Berlin Pro.
Firstly, I hope you are a fairly strong player. Berlin Pro is a butt kicker.
Secondly, I hope you don't intend playing chess at the park. BP only
runs through an adaptor, not on batteries.
Thirdly, a tight dust cover is generally a sign of the unit having had only
minimal use. The cover gets a bit looser over time.
all the best to you...

I hadnt play many games vs BP but suprisely I found London 16-bit more tough opponent against myself even its hardware is twice weaker... a real mystery!
