My understanding is that they are presently being manufactured and dealers / distributers are awaiting the stock that they have ordered.

Sure, the wood variants will come in walnut, ebony, stained boxwood, French polished pine or oiled oak with the white squares being plain boxwood throughout the range. There is also going to be a much cheaper aircraft-doped balsawood version with blue and yellow squares so you can play chess just like Bobby Fischer with the machine floating in the swimming pool. Or you can buy the entire Wood Essence collection in a wonderful giftbox and a numbered certificate signed by Richard Lang in gold leaf.

The sky is the limit here (and it's a foggy, overcast day).

That's actually still a publicity mock-up. The sensor board appearance is essentially the same as on the Europe II model and not an ugly gloss as per the "photo". Which means to say it is a very fine, mat-textured aesthetically appealing and practical sensor board that works extremely well and won't ever annoy you with reflections or future scratches.

PS: The Genius unit is a bit bigger than the Europe II though.

Hi, Some of the recent evidence suggests that the new Millenium ChessGenius has about 2250 Elo , in the German forum Schachcomputer: http://www.schachcomputer.info/forum/sh ... ess+Genius faced the powerful machine MG and Mephisto Milano Pro and the result was as follows.

PDF: http://www.millennium2000.de/sites/defa ... 310715.pdf

Millenium ChessGenius 14.5 - 7.5 Mephisto Milano Pro

It seems that we have a machine with a force of game comparable to Mephisto Berlin Pro 32 Bits (Century XXI)...

New aesthetic level of unaccounted time.

Regards.. :D

Just to back up Steve.

At SSDF: 2259 ELO

Chess Genius 3 Iphone 4 ARM A8 800MHz 2259 82 -69 100 69% 2121

Being generous with a factor 5 for doubling and 60 ELO per doubling = 300 ELO reduction.

2259 less 300 ELO = 1959 ELO (maybe if you are lucky for Chess Genius)

I am pretty sure that friend Wiener had those tests done with PS0 setting which if that was the case makes the test pretty useless.

Best to wait and see but I suspect the computer lies somewhere between 1800 and 2000 ELO at tournament level.

Waiting...... regards

Ossi Weiner is Millennium Steve. I agree based on what I have read over the years in Computer Schach & Spiele and other publications, I think it is probably best to just wait and see.

Hey if it ends up being 2250 ELO then everyone is happy. But its hard to believe when you look at SSDF's rating running at a whopping 800 MHz!!!!

PS. That SSDF ELO of 2259 is a result of opponents averaging at 2121 ELO, so even that indicated that 2259 might be too high a rating as well for Chess Genius at SSDF :) All logical cards are stacked against Millennium Chess Genius having a Berlin Pro like rating :)

It is hard for old dogs to learn new tricks... regards

Right ..I know
just didn't know where the tests were coming from

your good with formula's...
here is a formula I have applied over the years when it comes to Companies rating their own computers...
has proven to be very accurate over the years..

MFG Rating -(200-250 Elo) =Actual Rating

 Regards

LOL comes to the same diff = Less than 2000 ELO unless you are Novag where you have to take 300-500 off and Millennium based on recent Rating of 2100 for a 1200 computer you have to deduct 900 :P

It comes from an official Millennium Website. Therefore has to be fully sanctioned. Always best to have someone else's name as tester, helps you to blame someone when Steve finds out the results are wrong.. lol
