For those members who are also Pro Wrestling fans we could also refer to the controversy as:Monsieur Plastique wrote:No, we can just call it:
Nelson
That is more than enough title for anyone in the world who hasn't lived under a rock to know what it is all about.
Full Nelson-those believing he was the programmer
Half Nelson-those against

We may also need to include a third category for those believing that Ron Nelson was the sole programmer on some but also had his hand in everything (i.e. Lead Programmer, Project Manager, etc.).Steve B wrote:For those members who are also Pro Wrestling fans we could also refer to the controversy as:Monsieur Plastique wrote:No, we can just call it:

I don't know. Given how we've dealt with the Nelson Question in this forum over the years, perhaps we should call it Nelson Flat Out at 200 percent. That would be Nelson 50% Pure Genius Engineer. Nelson 50% Fidelity Stalwalt and Hall of Famer. And Nelson most definitely 100% Done to Death on these forums!Cyberchess wrote:Three–Quarter Nelson

With all this rumour around Nelson, Excalibur should start up again and release Grandmaster 2.0, which is just the same program in a new outfit.
Given all the publicity here, it should sell like
MacD's hamburgers regards,

OK, just stay calm and I'll break the news to you. The Nelson Protocol is already out! Published by Basic Books in hardcover. Although its title sounds as a Robert Ludlum blockbuster, it was actually written by Fernando Villegas and translated from the Spanish into English by Steve B. Steve B. also wrote the Preface that sparked a heated debate on this chess forum. The rest is history...klute wrote:Just thinking... if we called it something like "The Nelson Protocol" instead, then we'd at least have the title for a chess computer thriller - firstly the book and then the movie.Steve B wrote:"Nelson Affair"
The book could be published in paperback (equivalent of plastic) and hardcover (equivalent of wood) depending on the preference of the reader.
