HCE vs iPhone App - same Engine ?

Hi,

I have both the HCE (for analysing) and HIARCS iPhone app.
I normally play against the iPhone app (with a board) for convenience, but I recently wondered if there are any differences between the HCE and IPhone app for playing against, i.e.

- (1) do they use the same HIARCS engine ?
- (2) do the beginner levels (ELO levels) have the same characteristics (e.g. openings handling, mistakes, etc.) ?
