Pressure Sensor of Chess Computer not Working
Hi everybody,
since there is no "Chess Computers" category in the forum, im asking here in the General Discussion..
I have a Radio Shack Chess Computer 2150L Cat No 60-2254, but a few squares of the board are not working.
The pressure sensor may be damaged for this specific squares (about 30 squares).. How can i replace it ?
I could not manage to remove the board sensor… Its stuck in the plastic case..
Take a look at this picture i took:
This is the board front side. There is no way to remove it from here too:
Thank you

Early in your post you mention "a few squares", and later, "about 30 squares". If the faulty squares are all on the same rank or file, that
points to a bad connection between circuit board and playing surface.
If the problem is on random squares, it's bad news. This is an advantage
with auto sensory boards. Individual squares can be repaired. On a
pressure sensory surface the switches depend on the elasticity of the
laminate material, which reduces a little more every time the game is
used. Sorry to have to tell you this, but it does happen to all of us sooner
or later, so you are not alone.
The chess computer graveyard up in the sky is full of comps with the
same syndrome you are facing. The mainboard is fine, so I can only
suggest you put the game away and keep a look out for a replacement.
all the best to you...
