Really huge thanks to Harvey for travelling over to Leiden, managing and operating Hiarcs again in this tournament. The final game against Shredder felt like riding a rollercoaster of emotion for over an hour and I was only watching!? :)

We had high hopes but the final day did not go as we had hoped.

The new engine is still "under construction" although it is already so much stronger than any previous H version, there is still much to improve. We will use it as motivation to improve further.
Best wishes,
Mark

Many thanks Hans, great photos as usual!

What was the Embla chess computer doing there?
I know the Embla chess program entered the software tournament but did Folkert use his dedicated chess computer in that event or was it just there on show for people to look at?

Regards
Bryan

The game was even and anyone of the programs could get the point. Bad luck it was not H. but S and his programmer also deserve the credit. We should see a 50 games tourn between H and S to discriminate the best...
