Fidelity Miami?

Post by paulwise3 »

Hi all,

Hein Veldhuis asked me to post a question here. He has scanned a lot of Fidelity advertising brochures, see http://www.schaakcomputers.nl/hein_veldhuis/database/
He found that some models in those brochures were never sold.
But he is in doubt about the Fidelity Miami, see page 6 in http://www.schaakcomputers.nl/hein_veld ... 201992.pdf

Is there anyone who owns or has ever seen this Fidelity Miami?

Missing Sherlock Holmes regards,
Paul

Hi Steve,

Thanx for your quick reply.
Well, if you have never seen it, the chance becomes very small that anyone else has seen it...

The vapourware Fidelity Miami gets a mention in this Computer Chess Reports Page 4 -

http://www.chesscomputeruk.com/Computer ... 991-92.pdf

Programmer Eric Van Riet Paap?
Housing very similar to a CXG Sphinx Legend according to the Fidelity brochure picture.

Fidelity were winding down at the time (see the following Computer Chess Reports) and CXG had just gone bust.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the pdf. Indeed very similar to the Legend/Concerto!
But still not clear if it really was released.

But at least one of the master 2400 and one of the challenger 2300 was made for the photos. Do not think these photos were a fake. I wonder who has them.

Looking for the prototypes regards

Hi Paul

Well the next Computer Chess Reports -
http://www.chesscomputeruk.com/Computer ... _1992a.pdf
Page 6 says that the planned new versions of the Travel Master have been cancelled, which presumably means the new Travel Master and its tabletop brother the Miami.

All the best

Hi Larry,

Where/how did you get this list? It does not always fit with the data found at http://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/in ... itle=Klone.
