They all checked out OK ...EXCEPT FOR my V2
dead F2 and C5 Reeds

employing my now world famous method...
i placed an extra strong ...heavy.. magnet on the dead squares
F2 reed sprang to life!
still working on C5...

No Sicilian Games For The Time Being Regards

After letting the magnet sit on the C5 square for two full days(with the computer turned on)..the C5 square is back to life!

to celebrate the V2's return from the brink of death.. i played a 5 min blitz game and reached this position as white...
[fen]2r2k2/pp3pq1/4pNp1/2n3Qp/2r5/P1N4R/1P3PK1/3R4 w - - 0 1[/fen]

i essayed forth the bone crushing ...
1.Rh4!
and the V2 soon lost

Hi Steve,

Thanks for posting this position it's highlighted a problem with the 5 Stockfish8 compiles I have for the RPi.

All 5 compiles will only consider b4 as the best move. Whereas Stockfish7, Texel, Arasan, RodentII and the other Picochess engines all show Rh4 almost immediately.

So I'm going to redo Harvey's test from the 'London Chess Classic 2016' posted 12 days ago, using Stockfish7.

I would be grateful if someone could test Steve's position here using Stockfish8 on their laptop or PC ...
