Round 2: Millennium Chess Genius EXCLUSIVE - Resurrection Ruffian: 1/2

Ruffian left the opening with some advantages. But after the exchange of the queens we saw a long endgame with rook, bishop/knight and pawns on each side, ending in a rook endgame with 1 pawn advantage for the Genius. But absolutely drawn endgame.
Was a hard fihgt: no-one was allowed to make any small mistake.

Here's the game, nearly thrown away, from +2.7 to about +0.6 then black traded Rooks, big mistake.

Cheers,

Al.

Yes, Al, a hard to understand game...

The first loss ever of the MCGE. After a very unusual variant of the Latvian Gambit Accepted the MCGE had already one pawn less, even with knight/bishop against 2 bishops. No good choice. He struggled hard against the loss, always under pressure. And in the moment of a possible draw MCGE traded rooks in the endgame, losing directly.

Hi,

within Nick's PGN file of the game Resurrection Ruffian vs. Mephisto London 68030 I had to exchange White and Black!

@Nick: You can download the PGN file directly from the Lichess server! Click the game, click FEN & PGN, click Download raw (or Download annotated)!

The game between Mysticum Aristarch 4.5 and Mephisto London 68030 started with a Caro Kan Defense Advance variation. The first 6 moves were made by book for both machines. Aristarch made an early sacrifice on move 12.Bxd5 which lead some moves later to a naked king. With this weakeness of the black king white lead to a great advantge of an endgame with 2 advance pawns one on the 7th square and the other on the 6th square and announcing mate in 6.
