Both were out of book at Move 14, White built up a slight advantage then got its Rook trapped but swapped 4 Pawns for it looking dangerous for a little while. But the London played accurately and announced mate in 8 at the end.

Cheers,

TASC R30 vs Atlanta

Post by Dave C »

Here is the round 6-6 game between the TASC R30 v2.5 and the Mephisto Atlanta. Michael L was kind enough to play for Michael P while he is busy with work responsibilities.

[Event "High Performer Chess Computer Tournament 2017"]
[Site "https://lichess.org/4384GE0b"]
[Date "Wednesday, 2017.05.18"]
[Round "6-6"]
[White "TASC R30 v2.5 - Dave C"]
[Black "Mephisto Atlanta - Michael L"]
[Result "1-0"]
[WhiteElo "2371"]
[BlackElo "2270"]
[PlyCount "79"]
[TimeControl "30s/move"]
[ECO "E15"]
[Opening "Queen's Indian Defense: Fianchetto Variation, Nimzowitsch Variation, Quiet Line"]

1. Nf3 Nf6 2. d4 e6 3. c4 b6 4. g3 Ba6 5. b3 { E15 Queen's Indian Defense: Fianchetto Variation, Nimzowitsch Variation, Quiet Line } d5 6. cxd5 exd5 7. Bh3 Bb4+ 8. Bd2 Bd6 9. Nc3 O-O 10. O-O Re8 11. [fen]r1q4k/p2b1p1p/1p3p2/3B1Nn1/6QP/1P4P1/P4P2/4R1K1 w - - 1 26[/fen]

This is the position after black's move #25, Qc8. According to Stockfish the best move would have been Rc8.

26. Qd4 Bxf5 27. Qxf6+ Kg8 28. hxg5 Qd7 29. Bxa8 Be6 30. Bf3 Qc8 31. Rd1 Bd7 32. Rd4 Qc1+ 33. Kg2 Bh3+ 34. Kh2 Qc5 35. Rd8+ Qf8 36. Bd5 Be6 37. Rxf8+ Kxf8 38. Bxe6 Kg8 39. Qxf7+ Kh8 40. Qg8# { White wins by checkmate. } 1-0

[fen]6Qk/p6p/1p2B3/6P1/8/1P4P1/P4P1K/8 w - - 2 40[fen][/fen]
and here is the final position. (Oops..I don't know why the board is reversed)

make sure the last letter in the FEN string is a "w" and not a "b"

6Qk/p6p/1p2B3/6P1/8/1P4P1/P4P1K/8 w - - 2 40

Corrective Regards
