2ND CHESS FRIENDS OF THE WORLD DCCC -9/9/2017

Post by spacious_mind »

With Michael's High Performer tournament coming to an exciting end in the next few weeks, I thought it might appropriate to gage the interest in having another 1 Weekend Swiss Tournament as we had in 2015, which you can read about here:

http://hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php? ... sc&start=0

and here:

http://hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php? ... sc&start=0

Steffen mentioned to me today about how much he enjoyed this Live one Weekend Online tournament and wished we could play another one soon.

Therefore this resulted in this post to gage the interest.

Just like last time it would be a 5 or 6 round International Swiss Tournament with perhaps 3 games played on a Saturday and 3 games on a Sunday. An even number of rounds is preferred as it makes it easier to schedule without having create bye's for contestants.

The last time we held it in November which was not so good in timing as valuable members such as Steve B was tied up with work at that time, so this year I would propose to do it a little earlier like perhaps August or early September, or any other time that suits the majority.

if you are interested then please respond to this post. Also please indicate the strength category we should play as your preference.

Trust me this tournament is not for the faint hearted as it is a hectic weekend but everyone who played last time had a lot of fun.

And we will go from there.... best regards

Nick, I fully agree.
As you mentioned in your statement this was the most exciting online tournament I´ve ever played.
I would participate, for sure. I don´t care which weekend (except the last weekend in October --> Kaufbeuren).

Hi Steffen,

Great that makes two of us now. We just need to find some more people :)

Bavaria, the heart of the world :) We´re already two of us. And if Walter (he´s not available for a few days) and Helge join us, we´re 4 of us!
I want to see New York and California, too :)))

well i have participated in 5 Paris Tournaments where all games were played in one day

a 10 game match Vs Harvey(London 68030)
1 game per week
and a 10 game match Vs Ricardo's Mysticum
1 game per week

the problem for me is the same problem as the last tournament
cant play a full weekend ..
i can play one full day OR 1 game per week

Other Demands On My Free Time Regards
Steve

We should be able to arrange that, Steve.

One always finds a solution to let you play in one day regards,
Steffen
