Just got Hiarcs for my Mac a week ago and generally am happy with the product.

One odd thing: whenever I open a specific pgn database X, it automatically flips the board display so black is on the bottom. With this the View->FlipBoard menu item is toggled on.

When I load any other database, it reverts to normal behavior.

I must have done something to turn on this behavior, but I cannot turn it off.
I even tried renaming the database, to no avail.
Nor do I see a text based initialization file to change any saved state so I am out of my depth.

Any help is appreciated!

G.

If you open a PGN game with a non standard starting position, the position will display according to who is to move. So black to play problems are shown with black going up the board (board rotated).
