Second '21 Special: Below 1850 tournament

Post by paulwise3 »

Hi all,

So the next tournament to be played at Lichess.org will be a below 1850 active (CElo, see the wiki-elo-liste) tournament.
We have to decide when it starts, and if we play 30 secs/move average or whole game in 30 minutes.
A possibility might be around the Whitsun (or Pentecost?) weekend (Dutch: Pinkster weekeinde; German: Pfingst-Wochenende).
This is at 23-24 may, so should start a few days before.
But of course I am open for other suggestions.

The first participants are already there:
Michael - Novag Super Constellation
Al - Simultano (B or C?) or Mephisto MMII + HG240 or Fidelity Elite A/S Glasgow emu (I prefer a real comp)
Eric (esinger) - Novag Super Expert A 5 MHz
Paul - Excalibur Grandmaster or Saitek Corona C (= Simultano C) or Simultano B or even my Krypton Challenge, tuned from 10 to 15 MHz.
Gerhard - Fidelity Elite Privat
...
next...

But let's start discussing about a good starting date...!

Tournament fever regards,
Paul

Hi Paul,

I’ll use the Mephisto MII and HG240 and leave you with the Simultano.

Thanks,

Al.

Hi all,

I created a new thread for the Second '21 Special Below 1850 tournament.
@Gerhard: Elite privat it is :-)
@Al: I have not decided yet, in doubt between my Grandmaster, my Corona C and Challenge 15 MHz.

So let us discuss more details and participants in the new thread! :-)

Paul

Thanks again Paul for the last (incredible) tournament and organising a new on😀.

If it goes to U1850 Active List, i choose

A. SciSys Stratos (nearly the same as Saitek Maestro B, 1786 ELO)

or

B. Fidelity Sensory 9 with 8 MHz (around 1800 ELO, Playmatic 3,1MHz with samen program has 1705)

Waiting for the start😉 regards
Peter

Hi Paul and all,
around Pentecost weekend is a good timing for this tournament! Apparently no holiday trip possible...
See you then regards Michael

Of course I would like to be there again.
13 May is a public holiday here. It could be the starting date.

I would like to participate again with a device from a programmer who is not already represented. That could be the Steinitz 20 MHz.
Alternatively, I could contribute the Peri Gamma or Krypton Callenge.

I am already curious about the field of participants (operators and devices).

Hi gentlemen,

I would be happy to register my Saitek Blitz!

Already some Kaplan devices are foreseen (Corona, Simultano, Stratos...) but the Blitz runs a much different, lighter & faster program on a H8, so it would not be a duplicate.

Cheers,
Eric

Hi Jürgen
The Designer 2000 seems to equal the Peri Gamma, so you have to discuss it with Franz.
For now, we better first wait and see if other (new) participants like to play with one of our second or third choices.
Paul.

Ok, then I play with the Saitek Corona C, which seems appropriate in the context of the current pandemy.
Let's see if he can make another kind of positive test :-P

Eric(es)- Novag Super Expert A 5 MHz
Paul - Saitek Corona C (= Simultano C)

Peter - SciSys Stratos (nearly Saitek Maestro B, 1786 ELO) or Fidelity Sensory 9 with 8 MHz (around 1800 ELO, Playmatic 3,1 MHz with samen program has 1705)
Franz - Steinitz 20 MHz or Peri Gamma or Krypton Challenge.
Eric(Ti)- Saitek Blitz
