In 1982 there was a chess cartridge for the video game console Intellivision, called USCF Chess.

Re: Intellivision USCF Chess
Hello Michael,
About the programmer, as far as I know he has been junior world champion... in chess, of course.
The (c) from the splash screen is 1981, while the (c) on the user's manual is 1982.
I play USCF Chess using the Bliss emulator for Windows.
I rate it thru computer chess tournaments around 1300 Elo...
Cheers,
Eric

Re: Intellivision USCF Chess
Hi Eric,
you are right, I think. Mattel also released a standalone unit by the same guy(s).
It plays in the same league as Atari 2600 Video Chess, but needs 16 times more RAM.
There were 2 other 2nd gen console chess, one playing stronger (Videopac C7010), based on Wim Rems Gambiet 80,
https://www.chessprogramming.org/Videopac_C_7010
one playing weaker, SABA Videoplay 20 (on the Fairchild Channel F), maybe by Mike Johnson?
